Making FAFSA corrections--quick question

have not filed taxes yet, so will need to correct FAFSA later

after filing FAFSA, I realized I filled out the parent's business line incorrectly. I put a valuation, but the business is just 1 employee so I now realize that was not supposed to be included.

Should I correct the business-value mistake now, or just wait til early April when taxes are done & do both at once?

FYI: I don't actually expect my kid to get anything out of doing the FAFSA aside from the gov loan. Our EFC will be too high for any other aid regardless of fixing the mistake. So I'm guessing I should just wait & do at once?

Thanks. This is probably a dumb question, government forms and financial things bring out my anxieties!

You can make corrections usually within a day or two of filing. Just log in and if you see a “make FAFSA corrections” link you can correct the information and resubmit. I have 7 corrections on my daughter’s already for various reasons.

Do make the corrections NOW about the business! That may make a significant difference in your EFC and your colleges/universities need to know that now, not in April when their money has already all been handed out.
