do classes end and start EXACTLY as they are timed on your schedule? for example, i have a class back to back, and i know that "michigan time" allows me to have 10 minutes in between classes. But these classes are kinda located far from each other. they are both on central, but one is in the modern langauges building and the other is in the student education building (which is across the street from east quad). would i be able to make it on time for the second class if i were to walk?

That’s just about the longest walk on Central, but 10 minutes is still plenty of time to make it. The only thing you really have to worry about is getting from Central to North.

That’s an easy walk, doable in 10 minutes

really? i would think that the walk would take more than 10 mins… i’m kind of wondering if i should get a bike…

You might have to hustle a bit. Freshman year I had one class at MLB than at Lorch Hall (which is close to East Quad), and I made it in time but I was kinda power walking. You might also want to let the professor know, although if it’s a big lecture class, it won’t matter.

I would talk to your professor about it. I had to walk from dennison to angell hall in 10 mins, which doesn’t seem too far (just across the diag) buy my calc professor often ran late, and I was often late to my english class (which took attendance). I talked to my english professor about it tho and it was all good.

oh and usually I started to sprint after I was half way across the diag, and I was still late sometimes.

yosup- i’ll have to walk from dennison to mason too…are most profs cool with being a little tardy?

my 115 course and english course are back to back

Most profs are cool with being a little late, it’s a big campus and if you have a far away class (ESPECIALLY if you are going from North to Central or vice versa), you’ll be fine as long as you let them know before hand. That is, if attendance is part of the grade. Tons of intro classes are in big lecture halls and no one cares if you’re late or even missing classes, I had a bunch of those last year
