With what you were offered, It seems like UNC is a great choice for you
Speaking to the financial questions raised by @powercropper ā¦ Iām a parent of another great kid choosing between two excellent college options. Weāve told our child the same thing the OPās parents are sayingāthe finances should not be the deciding factor. If the decision is between schools that are affordable to the family (because of income, savings, financial aid, whatever), then all the other elements are more important. I donāt want my responsible and fiscally careful child to get stuck on the specific financial details. I think the OP is already asking all the right questions.
To the OP, I donāt know a single thing about either school! But reading your posts, it sounds like you felt more comfortable, challenged, and excited by one great schoolā¦ but you donāt want to hurt the feelings of another great school that deserves the best and has shown it really cares about you. What advice would you give a friend in a parallel situation?
@Lynnski Thank you so much. Your comment was really helpfulā¦UNC is truly where I belong, and the way you said to think of what Iād tell a friend for sure has helped me to make my decision.
Iām so pleased to let everyone know Iāve just committed to attend UNC in the Class of 2024 with the Gap Year program prior to my attendance. OU is an amazing school, but after talking with my parents Iāve determined my debt from UNC should be manageable.
Thank you so much to all of you, and Iām so excited to become a member of UNC 2024. Go Tar Heels!!
