Male vs. Female teachers

Let the debate begin! Who do you think are better high school teachers in general: males or females?

Personally, I find males are better teachers... because I can self-study AP's during class and they wouldn't care. I'd get in so much trouble if I got caught doing that in a female teacher's class. Oh, and males tend to make the class more interesting.

Tally so far:
Male: 1
Female: 0

I had very few male high school teachers. Only three in two years (APHG, APWH, Earth/Space Science). All three were great, and three of my favorites. The other one of my favorites was female, my Latin teacher.

After two years, I took dual enrollment classes. There, the majority of my professors were male. All of my professors, regardless of gender, were good, but that’s mainly thanks to advice and RMP. My very favorites were male, but again, that’s because most were male.

I don’t think you can make a value judgement like this based on gender.

Tally so far:
Male: 0
Female: 0
No Value Judgement Based on Gender: 1

Hurt Male, Heal NVJBoG

Male teachers. They are more intelligent, and thus more interesting.

Male teachers. Theres always those few days out of the month were female teachers are just complete jerks.

Male: 2
Female: 0
No Value Judgement Based on Gender: 1

Young, foxy, single female teachers

Male: 2
Female: 0
No Value Judgment Based on Gender: 2

Male: 2
Female: 1
No Value Judgment Based on Gender: 2

feel more comfortable around women teachers; women teachers aren’t as jerky as some men teachers are; orient the class slightly more to girls than to boys (volatility = how perfume gets into the air is easier to remember than volatility as something boyish)

I don’t really mind, but my favourite teachers in terms of the ones I think that have the most character are male, however the ones that always give me most support and high marks are the female ones.

Soooo:
Male: 2
Female: 1
No Value Judgment Based on Gender: 3

Male for sure.
I’ve had 9 male teachers and 8 female teachers so far in high school.
I have hated every single female teacher aside from 2, and the 2 were from a different school. Every single male teacher aside from 1 I have loved. Male teachers are generally more interesting and more laid back (except for one that took points off a history assignment because i forgot a question mark -__-)

Male: 4
Female: 1
No Value Judgment Based on Gender: 3

I’ve had a lot of male teachers… This year, for example, I have four male teachers and one female teacher. I prefer male teachers to female teachers for some reason. I think I learn better from them, but a lot of my friends learn better from female teachers, so who knows.

Male. Of course, there are exceptions on either side, but overall I’ve found the male teachers to be much better.

Male: 4
Female: 1
No Value Judgment Based on Gender: 4

This is a brilliant question.

I have all male teachers this year. I like it a lot. They’re more easy going and make class more interesting in my opinion.

Male: 4
Female: 1
No Value Judgment Based on Gender: 5

Though, of course, a hot female teacher makes it much easier to pay attention.

Male: 5
Female: 1
No Value Judgment Based on Gender: 5

Vote for male here. They tend to be more chill and I hate to put it this way (but I think it’s true), but they tend to have more common sense. They’re just more practical people.

Could it be because male teachers are more self-selective? >.<

Male: 6
Female: 1
No Value Judgment Based on Gender: 5

Definitely male. They get more into teaching, and are much less defensive than female teachers.

Male: 7
Female: 1
No Value: 5

I prefer male teachers. The male teachers that I’ve had are more entertaining and relaxed than their female counterparts.

Male: 8
Female: 1
No Value Judgment Based on Gender: 5

Male: 8
Female: 1
No Value Judgment Based on Gender: 6

I don’t know if NVJBoG counts as a tie, but that’s how I’m using it. My current math teacher is the best math teacher I’ve ever had, and she’s a woman. She’s just so good at making concepts make sense. However, my Bio and Latin teachers are not the best, and they’re both women. As for the guys, they’re just so-so this year. So the good females out weigh the bad females, and the males are just in the middle. So it’s a tie!
