Malware Alert in Some Browsers

Chrome on mac blocked yesterday afternoon… Glad things are cleared up, but hasn’t this happened before?

Why is this happening so much lately? We know CC was hacked only a few weeks ago and now malware? It worries me =/

Our tech folks are still analyzing what happened, but because of measures in place the duration was, as far as we can tell, very, very short. But, since Google is constantly viewing the site with multiple “bots” looking for updated content, it was long enough to trigger the alert.

We’ve put additional measures in place to avoid future incidents.

On both Firefox and Internet Explorer my corporate malware detection software blocks advertising on college confidential with the following message:

Compliance Alert:
URL: <a href=“http://ads.collegeconfidential%5B/url%5D”>http://ads.collegeconfidential</a> …
Category: Malicious Sites
Site Reputation: High Risk

It did this earlier of the the day of the full blockage, and it continuous to block the ads section of College Confidential at this very moment.

My sense is that the site remains vulnerable.

Warning from McAfee again: “We tested this page and blocked content that comes from potentially dangerous or suspicious sites. . .”

I agree with the poster above - the site remains vulnerable.
