Management Information Systems vs Finance?

I recently got into University of Oklahoma as an admitted freshman to study Nursing but have changed my mind about my major. My second choice has always been business because I enjoy it and I feel that there are aspects of business everywhere. With that being said, I would like to change my major to either MIS or Finance. I have taken Touch Data Entry Systems and Business Information Management in high school so I am leaning a little bit more towards MIS but I want to know which one is better in terms of getting a job after college and the pay.

Absolutely no need to decide now. You don’t need to decide a major until the end of your soph. year at most colleges. First be sure you can get into the b-school at the college. If you are in a b-school you will start off by taking a business core curriculum which will include a number of intro. level courses in different areas of business (ex. MIS, finance, accounting, etc.). Once you have taken these classes you will have a better idea of where your interests and aptitudes lie. In addition you will have opportunities to talk to professors, career placement etc. about the fields and job opportunities when you are in college.

Ya, what @happy1 said. I know you said you’ve taken MIS-related courses but do you know much about finance? Can you see yourself working in typical finance jobs?
