Management or Finance Concentration?

My “dream job” is working in a big firm like Morgan Stanley. The schools that I am looking at (undergraduate): Michigan, UVA, Notre Dame, USC, Texas, NYU, UNC, MIT
I was thinking of two different paths:

First path:
Bachelor: Business Administration with focus on finance
Master: MBA in finance

Second path:
Bachelor: Business Administration with focus on management
Master: MBA in finance

On one hand I believe finance is a better undergraduate major, however, having management would probably land me the better job after university. Wouldn’t having a finance concentration and then a master in finance be redundant?

I’d say finance will give you a better chance at landing a good job after graduation. Management is a very general course of study and often considered to be one of the easier business degrees one can get.

You should go with UNC! I know a few people working at Morgan Stanley

^^^^The OP just listed schools of interest – he/she has to get before making a selection!

I don’t think an undergraduate focus on mgmt is really necessary. I would do finance and then do a regular MBA further on if you want it.;
