Anyone going to uni of Manchester this September ?

I’ll be returning to Manchester this September, to continue my degree :)

A help regarding accommodation ? I have booked a place for my self in mansion house near Manchester uni , shared by 5 ppl including me , common kitchen , costing me 119 pounds a week . Should I go for it or not ? If not , then any recommendations ?

I’m not sure I’d recommend private halls in general - they do tend to attract a lot of people who aren’t first years, and who aren’t UoM students, which can hinder your ability to make friends. They’re also invariably more expensive, and the management of questionable quality. Uni owned halls are much better on the above counts, though they can be slightly less luxurious.

There’s lots of info on uni owned halls here www. the student room .co.uk/showthread.php?t=2091577 (remove the spaces)

@virengupta I’m going to be studying abroad this coming September, I’m also headed to Manchester. I’ve decided to stay in university housing, Oak House to be exact and I think I pay less than you do per week.

Also read this thread I made a few months ago comparing Manchester and London, @boomting had some real nice input in it as well.
