March 12 - Official SAT - General Discussion IS open

Is anyone canceling?

I am not. I know I did well but it doesn't really matter what you get this time around. It's all good. Don't cancel

What tips do y'all who just took the new test have for us who will be taking it in the next few months?

How did the time limit on the essay work?

Looks like CB is getting ready to publish experimental section information for the March 12 SAT now. There is now a link for "Flash Back to the March 12 SAT - Which sections didn't count?" on the Organizer page. However, just like for the Jan 22nd SAT, the link does not fetch the correct information. It now displays experimental section info for the Jan 22nd SAT. If this time is just like last time, then, we can expect CB to publish the correct information within two to three days.

bump. I want the thread to LIVE!

"Paris differs from other cities, such as London and New York, in that its shopping districts are more widely spread out."

Yeah, it was "... are so widely spread out." I remember spending some time on that one (going back to it at the end of the section), but I do not recall what my final response was.

This thread has to be the fastest growing one... ever!

so where can we find out information on the experimental?

CB's website will have it soon.
Meanwhile, PR has a very good analysis: http://www.princetonreview.com/college/testprep/testprep.asp?TPRPAGE=794&TYPE=NEW-SAT-REPORTS

anyone remember any tricky idioms?

yes - "tendency of having" and "bored at being" both in the same error ID.

deacsfan12 - For the essay, have prepared examples ready and write fast... I would advise a 25-min essay everyday (or every week), but I generally think the advisor should follow his/her own advice and I'm not about to do that. lol

I hope that there was an experimental writing section, and that I got that section. Darn grammar rules...

for boredom at and widely spread i put no error

Does anyone remember the sentence and options for these two sentence completions?

-revitalized and consign (these were the answers but I'd like to know the sentence and other options)

-perspecatious and unpretentious (I'm 99% sure these were the options but again I just wanted confirmation on the context of the question and other possible answers.)

How was the test compared to the Official SAT book?

(I was supposed to take it but my school cancelled because of weather so now I have to wait until April 2nd :()

luckyyyyy damn

BUMP

*Sorry, but I'm very concerned about these two questions. To re-iterate:

Does anyone remember the sentence and options for these two sentence completions?

-revitalized and consign (these were the answers but I'd like to know the sentence and other options)

-perspecatious and unpretentious (I'm 99% sure these were the options but again I just wanted confirmation on the context of the question and other possible answers.)

i remember the context, but not the other options:

[ul]
[]revitalized and consign: Alice Walker trying to revitalize parts of black culture that had been consigned to the past...i think
[]perspicacious and unpretentious: talking about a guy who was insightful, but humble about it
[/ul]

Thank you very much....you're definetly right about the context.

I really hope someone else can remember the other options because I'm pretty sure I put the right answers, but I can't even remember the other options. So if anyone can remember anything, please post!

does this take the record for longest CC topic yet? 1,ooo+ posts, 4o,ooo views. I would think so...
