March 15...

This just came in from UCSC via email... so that means there is no late decisions like UCR and UCI have been having??

"...check your access to the MyUCSC portal at my.ucsc.edu, where you will be able to view your admissions decision starting midnight, March 15. All decisions for first-year students will be available on that date, while transfer students will be notified on a rolling basis from March 15 through April 15."

Nope...I think they are only posting on that day...and prolly all the decisions will be during that day

Nails bitten -- scaaaared!

good! i'm so glad that they're just getting them all out there.. UC irvine is driving me nuts!

I was looking through my online application today and under the test scores part, it's now coming up with an error, where before I could read the scores they put up. Is anyone else having this problem?!?

3 days!!!!!!!!!

Test scores back up, but this is agonizing!!

3 more days...

My odds of getting in are like 50/50, but I feel lucky...

Good luck hye! I feel like I know you!

i hate the wait...

You too.

BTW, what are your stats? Mine are probably worst, but I'm curious.

I am not sure that they will give us all the answers on 3/15. The message to me said:

"UC Santa Cruz has received your application for fall 2007!

Our notification period begins March 15 and concludes on March 31. Admission decisions are sent to your current mailing address, and we do much of our communication with you via e-mail. Please ensure that all your contact information is accurate and up-to-date by using the "Personal Info & Options" link to your left."

but i got the email a couple of weeks ago saying what's in the first post... oh well, if i don't find out, then i guess i'll just wait. booo

I don't mean to alarm any of you... but I have a theory....

What if UCSC only sent the second email (the one thats in the first post) to those who got accepted?

Well, when you log onto your ucsc account, it says what workl8 describes, but that second email we received (everyone received it, right?), it says what Norcal says, so I'm guessing the contradiction is due to a change of heart by admissions. It's probably too much of a pain in the neck for them to change the website with all the applicant into on it, so that's why we got the email with the new terms. I guess!

Do we have any idea what TIME 3/15 decisions come out? I mean, is this another one of those 12:01 a.m. deals or noon maybe things?

new email at 9:30am today

Dear ___:

UC Santa Cruz has been working hard these last few months to make the best decisions possible on our over 29,000 applications. Thank you for your patience during this process.

We are now ready to let you know your admissions decision. At midnight Pacific Daylight Saving Time tonight (March 15), you will be able to view your decision on the MyUCSC portal at my.ucsc.edu.

looks like we can know tonight at midnight... but the thing is... i dont know my login/pw info. UCSC never mailed me any pink sheet. I emailed them last week to ask for it, but never got a response... then i called, and they said they would email me my info... but still no email lol... oh well

I just got that same e-mail. 29,000 is a big number.

Yep. I received it also. I just hope that it will not be impossible to get onto the site at midnight. I remember when UCR released its results I could not get on until 3:30 a.m. - just to find out no decision had been made.

i'm tempted to stay up, but i suspect that their servers will explode into a million pieces at 12:01am. i'm surprised that these schools aren't a bit wiser when it comes to posting these decisions. they could save a lot of time and headaches if they released the decisions in batches spread across several hours based on last name or something with a posted schedule. somehow i think that peoplesoft probably isn't designed for 10,000 concurrent users.

Haha, I agree with a-dub.

I think I might sleep and the wake up at 2 or 3am and see if it's all right then.

I'm glad that UCSC is letting everyone know what time they're posting and keeping us updated... unlike UCI... haha
