***March 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

on a sat practice test (given by CompassPrep), I got 3 wrong on the math section and got a 720 (a 50/54 on math is anywhere from 690-770). I can almost guarentee 3 wrong will never be as high as a 770, not even a 750, especially with the amount of HSers taking it.

So TBH if the curve isnt harsh this year youd probably be in the low 700s. If not, maybe high 600s (like 690).

you took the sat in 7th grade? o.0

sorry if this has already been discussed, but what was up with that really unusual writing section? It was section 7 for me and I have never seen anything like it with all the practice SAT tests I’ve taken. Apparently it’s similar to how the ACT is formatted? I haven’t practiced for the ACT or taken a test yet so I don’t know. But seriously that section threw me off because it looked so unfamiliar. 25 minutes for 19 writing questions was more than enough so I figured it’s experimental???

oh and that section was about an Olympic marathon race, did anyone have this?

no. @singmetosleep15
@Bslayer It was 7/19.

Math about how much machine y could make in 2 hours?

What did you guys put for the essay I about popular entertainment?I couldn’t think of literary example

just praying for a 700 in math and a mid to low 700 reading. this is my first time, i want to try and break 2100

I put 19/7! By far the dumbest mistake I have no idea how that happened. Got a 2160 on January but math is always the section holding me back

what were the other essay topics? I had the one about fortunate people helping less fortunate people.

@dianeosaur my experimental has a shoe cases one and it had like 4 questions for just that problem. that’s really all i remember from it because i was just so fed up with it. reminded me of how they changed the ap world exam to have large passages to read for 4-5 multiple questions: i don’t think it’s fair

what did u guys get for that problem that gave y=3 and y=ax^2 + b, find the value that gives 2 solutions?

Which one was the math experimental? Was it the one with circles and triangles?

@singmetosleep15
mine was does popular entertainment have any value or is it a distraction?

hi guys. I was curious about what you guys got on the question about smell. Has any sort of consensus been reached on what the answer to the “impressions” question is?

I put notions

I put “notions” for the impression question I believe

I put notions too although I spent some considerable time on that question. Idk why.

it’s most definitely notion

.
a conception of or belief about something.
“children have different notions about the roles of their parents”
synonyms: idea, belief, conviction, opinion, view, thought, impression, perception;

I read that same definition too! Yup, conception -> perception
