Any advice on critical reading…?

@Runningforlife @Lanie49 I decided that Im done. The probability that I do the same/worse is just too high. I dont want to go back and practice again and take the stress. Im just gonna take subject tests in may/june and call it there. I have really good EC’s so I think 2300 should do it. Just to clarify, my 2300 doesnt put me at any disadvantage at HYP does it?

@unproductive: wondering the same thing!! esp. since I’m an asian male in a competitive public school…

@runningforlife and @unproductive
2300 is enough for HYP, but I have to break 2300 and I’m asian too so a 2270 won’t cut it. Are both of you guys applying to college this fall?

@hawkace what schools admit for 2000 and a 3.7 unweighted gpa?

@Lanie49 Not to sound like a hypocrite, but a 2270 also would pass the HYP cutoff. Its up to you to retake though!

2270 certainly does not pass the cutoff for those schools (not that one exists, but for argument’s sake). For an unhooked URM, I would say your “cutoff” should be ~2330.

@foolish @unproductive yeah, a 2270 certainly does not make it. What is especially sketchy is that my breakdown is a 800M 800W and 670 CR which shows that i am seriously lacking in cr. Thus, I am extremely concerned/stressed/worried.

what would you guys suggest for a 790 M(potentially 800 after regrading), 750 CR, 760 W? I’m seriously contemplating retaking since like Lanie49 my CR is also kind of lacking…plus most of the very top at my school have 2350+

Wait, is regrading actually a thing? I didn’t realize you could “potentially” get a better score. What if they realize that they gave you credit for an answer that was wrong, would they take off points?

Most Ivies have average SAT scores of around 2150. HYP are closer to 2250, but not higher. Anything 2100+ will certainly pass a minimum cutoff, though I understand 2200+ and 2300+ are better

This is my first time taking it. I’m so depressed.
CR:480
M:610
W:590 – E: 9
T: 1680
I was aiming for at least 1800.

Remember that the average score is around 1500 before getting too dramatic (not that disappointment isn’t ok) about your scores…

so you’re telling me I should retake my 2300 @foolish.
Do you really think there is a make or break affect of 2300 vs 2330?

Ok I’m pretty sure I already know the answer to this but just need some help/ reassurance/ please tell me it isn’t the end
2200/ Asian female. Still a chance @ HYP?
Gonna retake but Yale takes all scores so… Suggestions?

Actually forget the question. Based off the worries over 2300+ being enough… Got an answer.

I cant wait for the score report to come out on April 1 so we can have a great debate about the answers guys :)

Should I order the Score Verification thingy? I’m not sure that my CR score is right.

@Hawkace dude people make a lot of silly mistakes trust me u dont realize it when ur doing it…the chance that they grade it wrong is like .001% they’re very professional in handling these processes as this is a standardized test…Besides you’ll see what u got wrong and right in ur score report so u can calculate ur score from there…

Yup.
