***March 2016 SAT (US Only) Thread*** |New Redesigned SAT Discussion Thread

This is usually around the time when some guy comes in and says guys check the website your scores are out!!! when they’re not lol.

Yep, 36 hours on the clock.

Great find! Its on the Android playstore too. Look for SAT conversion.

Wow a 1400 is only a 1990(I used my PSAT results which were math heavy) and a 1500 is a 2170. That’s pretty low. The average scores will significantly to up at colleges now.

What is the name of the app?

@class0f2017 The converter could be wrong, can’t say anything into the official table comes out.

It’s a College Board app. They used the official concordance table, but there might be some discrepancies regarding which table they used between subjects.

Wow then if a 1400 is only a 1990 that’s crazy.

So most likely a 1500 on the new test will only be around low 1400s on the old version?

A perfect score (1600) on the new SAT equates to a 2390 on the old, and to 36 ACT (composite) and 34 reading/writing ACT subscore. Which is bizarre!

I don’t understand why the college board didn’t just adjust the scores to be a perfect score on the new being a perfect score on the old.

It just means that a really strong ACT converts to a higher SAT. I wish they had the ACT to new SAT converter.

Maybe the low conversion rate means the curve was really high for this test.

I don’t understand why they don’t just curve it so a 1400 on the new SAT equals a 2100 on the old, etc. These new conversions unnecessarily complicate these scores.

@class0f2017 Agreed. They made the test easier then instead of making the curve harsher they made it more lenient

They can’t equate it proportionally such as 1400 = 2100. The reading and writing are now combined. The essay isn’t even included in the score, but the Old version included the essay in the writing score. It’s complete nonsense to try to equate between the New and Old by proportion, especially since the two tests are not even remotely the same.

That was exactly my point. Why doesn’t CB just change the style of the questions but keep the scores the same, sow we actually know what a good score is.

Where are you guys finding this app?
