Still haven’t gotten my scores
will colleges ask to see the subscores? because the subscores make me look like im doing way better. reading: 37/40, writing: 35/40, math: 37/40…13 mistakes total… THIS IS SO WEIRD on the old sat, getting 10 wrong would still be in the 2300 range…THIS TEST IS TELLING ME THAT MY 1460 IS EQUAL TO A 2090… makes me feel like shit…
@c011e9e @suzyQ7
sorry if i come off as arrogant. coming from a family of ivy league alumni, there’s this pressure to follow in their footsteps, so im really worried about my admissions, because ive heard stories of 2400 rejections, and I want to make my chances as high as possible
@dazedaura I don’t get the obsession with trying to relate the new test score with the old test. A 1460 is an excellent score! If you really want to take it again, go ahead, but you have absolutely no reason to feel bad about that score.
@dachosenwong The Ivy league rejects hundreds of perfect score students… anything above a 1550 will get you past phase 1 and not thrown out right away. After that, it doesn’t matter- the rest of your app matters. Work on your essay - read some of the threads on the ivy results from this year.
If you haven’t gotten your scores yet…you probably won’t be getting them today.
You can go to their twitter and ask them what is going on and they will tell you to DM your information…then they will DM you back tell you that your scores are still being evaluated.
I just got off the phone with them and asked about this and got zero sympathy from the CSR. I was told they have no idea when these scores will be ready. They will release them as they score them.
Just amazing College Board…you had two months that you still can’t get it right.
I got 35 composite in ACT last month, and today I got 1550 in new SAT
Which score to present to colleges later this year ? please advice
Thanks
@Mimic17 I have a son who is in the exact same boat. I’m recommending he send both. You can argue that the ACT score is slightly better, but I’m not convinced we know as much data about the new SAT as the admissions folks will when they start getting real scores in. In either case, you can at least say that the 35 and the 1550 are very similar scores and so they demonstrate that it is less likely that you got your score by cramming for a specific exam.
I would send both if I had a 1550. If you only want to send one, then send ACT. The Adcoms will be more comfortable with that and really value the 35. They may be confused still on the SAT conversions… Send both.
If I make NMSF, will a 1460 be a good enough score to send in?
@st8homom - most people are estimating the cutoff for that to be around 1400, maybe as low as 1380. We don’t think NMSC has released anything official for the new SAT. They don’t have to until they announce who the Semifinalists are in September.
I’m trying to get at least a 1560 which corresponds to a 35 ACT score
very frustrated with my 1440 (7,7,7 on the writing portion), was hoping for a 1500+. I really cant believe that this equates to about at 2030. These tables seem so off to me. Signing up for the ACT in June.
I ordered the score report. How can I view my answers and what I missed? Or is it not available yet?
I got a 1300 feel so stupid compared to all of you guys haha. I’m not trying to get into any ivy leagues but I still feel as though they were being a bit harsh on the concordance chart
I would cancel your order, @collegecraze72- another poster said it would be 2 months (!) before the report is delivered. They called College Board this morning.
Lol College Board is such a joke, I just got off the phone and you are right. 6-8 weeks. Looks like the ACT is the right place for me… All of us juniors have college apps around the corner and don’t have 6-8 weeks
i was really loyal to the SATs but now i know i need to switch to the ACT side, seems more right for me.
I’m really stressing out. How much does the essay matter?
I haven’t gotten my scores back yet… VERY STRESSED… Is there anyone who has not gotten their scores yet?
