@artetc - congratulations! Now, get working on those essays.
Thank you for the advice @glido @HopkinsHopeful @marvin100
I guess I’ll focus on the essays more now
I’m an eighth grader(going to be after summer) and I average around a 700 on Khan Academy. I’m taking Alg. 2 this upcoming year so I would say it’s just about learning the content and stuff…but idk.
Does anybody know if colleges will be able to see the subscores for each section. For example, will they only see that I got a 700 in Reading and Writing or will they also see that I got a 38/40 for Reading and 32/40 for Writing.
Thanks in advance!
@connoo - yes.
@marvin100 which scenario were you saying yes to in @connoo 's comment?
Colleges will be able to see subscores for each section:
@marvin100 do know if colleges who didn’t use the writing section on the old SAT will do the same for the new SAT? Will they not consider the writing section of the new SAT and double the reading section or will all colleges now use the writing as part of the English?
I don’t know, @1zogden1 , and neither does anyone else. I expect colleges themselves are still figuring out how to interpret rSAT score data.
@marvin100
You would think colleges will not super score R and W separately right?
DANG, I didn’t realize how harsh the concordance table is
38 on Reading of rSAT is equal to only 710 on old CR???
@marvin100
What are your opinions on this? Do you think students performing around 38~39 would score only about 710~760 on the old SAT?
On the old SAT CR, missing about 7 questions would get you about 710.
To compare with the new SAT, you can miss about 3 questions to get a 38.
Missing 3 on new SAT CR = minus 90 points on the old SAT.
Do you think the new SAT got this much easier? I don’t think it got any easier but the concordance table says so :o
Well, there are a lot fewer R questions on the new test, @YoLolololol , so it doesn’t seem too off base to me. 710 on the old test was usually around -6 or so, and that was (A) with a guessing penalty and (B) with five answer choices per question.
