Im currently an Architectural Studies student at Brown, and plan on applying for MArch I programs in the future. Im just starting to think about putting together a portfolio and am curious whether anyone knows whether many people applying to those programs have actual architectural designs/models in there (Ive got plenty of sketches, drawings, paintings, etc. I can include). Is it important to do something like the Career Discovery program at the GSD or the similar programs to have that kind of thing in a portfolio? (I think Id rather spend my summers working or doing internships at places like the National Building Museum in D.C. or in museums that have architecture and design departments). Thanks for any help!

No, personally I did like to see some evidence of an interest in buildings when I looked at student portfolios - but you can do that with photographs or drawings.
