<p>So I'm interested in joining the UMD Marching Band my freshman year, but I'm worried about how it will conflict with my workload. I'm likely going to be taking 18 credits my 1st semester as an Electrical Engineering major, and I have no real frame of reference as to just how much that is.
I really enjoyed marching band in high school, but even there the balance between band and homework got a bit overwhelming (maybe that's because of college applications this year, but regardless).
Any thoughts?</p>
<p>my friend is an engineering major at UMD and he is also in band. it does seem to be kind of time consuming but from what i can see its manageable.</p>
