Marching Band Question

I play clarinet and I'm decent at it. Im in the 10th grade now, and I've gotten into the California All-State band and County Band in 9th grade, and the 8th grade all state band. The only missing part is the marching band. I thought I would be too busy to do it and so I didn't join it in the 9th grade, and I didn't join in the 10th grade(this year) either.
I'm wondering if being in the marching band would help my chances a lot in some top schools like stanford etc. If its just a "nice-to-have" thing I won't do it but if the colleges really take marching band into account I'm thinking of doing it next year in junior and senior year. The boost would have to be decent since I'm predicting that junior year is going to be very busy with all the SATs and tests.
Opinions?

It probably wouldn't give you much of an admissions boost, unless it's an award-winning marching band.

College admissions aren't everything. If you think you will have fun doing it, sign up. I'm doing Show Choir my junior and senior years just because it's AMAZING and fun, not for any ulterior motives.

Have fun in high school.

Marching Band is filled with endless hours of hard work. I don't think you would enjoy it if you just joined to boost your admissions. Don't do it unless you know it'll be worth it.

I don't know what kind of effect it will have on your college admissions, but I definitely suggest that you join anyway. It will be worth the trouble, because it is so much fun and is so rewarding. But it is also a huge time commitment, both over the summer and during the school year, and the rehearsals are often challenging. I don't know about your band's schedule, but I have not had a free weekend so far this school year, because of marching band.

But I really think you won't regret joining.

It seems like you really love clarinet, but you only have so much time in a week. Make the commitment if you like the people in the band and think it would be fun, because it will definitely suck up your time.

it depends. if youre fortunate to have a great marching band at your school then go for it. its really a great experience and you get to meet a whole lot of people. id say band does help a bit, especially if youre section leader or drum major or something. truthfully, my sophomore year is busy as hell but its mostly due to my procrastinating that im sleeping late so if you concentrate on your stuff you shouldnt have too many problems. clarinetists are boss. i play one.
