It’s not irrelevant at all. Alcohol was illegal because of it’s harmful effects - thus prohibition. Alcohol prohibition proved that making something illegal doesn’t do anything to stop it. It just moves the alcohol from 7-11 to criminals who don’t check ID and people were getting killed over it. Of course alcohol was widely accepted as a part of the American culture so it was legalized once again.

and that’s not what I was talking about anyway. Rainbowcandy said it’s a problem when you start using the social scene for drugs which I would agree with - if it’s alcohol or other drugs. but marijuana isn’t nearly as harmful so I wouldn’t say it’s bad to socialize around marijuana - at least not pertaining to physical health.

Sorry, I was just wonder because of a visitors message on hilsa’s profile (yes, I CC stalk people). I heard you two were pretty close :p

Thanks for proving my point.

We’re VERY close. =]

if you can’t read between the lines thats your problem

I never liked hilsa much. I remember she made fun of Che Guevara.

LOL, If you can’t explicate a point it’s you’re problem. And there was nothing in your post that showed why the danger of alcohol was relevant. In fact, you made it clear that the re-legalization was entirely due to external factors.

TCBH, that was fromthesouth. hilsa was arguing in favor of him.

That was a really intense discussion… and now he’s my best friend here at Emory. lawlz.

well if alcohol wasn’t dangerous it wouldn’t have been prohibited in the first place. Danger is relevant, if legal drugs weren’t dangerous then there would be no basis for legalizing marijuana. which is also the reason why we would never legalize meth and coke.

So what? Who cares if those legal drugs are dangerous, considering that they’re legal for completely separate reasons?

^^ You’re kidding right? They didn’t ban alcohol because it was harmful.

I have no idea what you’re saying there.

that’s fine, but if you don’t believe the pure statistics of deaths on alcohol/tobacco and marijuana don’t prove a point I Really have nothing else to say.

You didn’t say anything coherent in the first place!

What point would they prove?

And show me an example of marijuana causing death. Pure pot alone.

I don’t believe that there is definitive evidence that states that it can be the sole cause of death.
