It was the most popular (more than alcohol).
I have never understood what was so great about it.
People were so passionate about the dope at MY high school.

My school is horrible. I live in a rich town where people have access to money so drugs are readily available. 4/20 is like a national holiday for these people. Cocaine is also suprisingly popular at my school.

I've never taken drugs. I don't know anyone who has taken drugs (to my knowledge). I have no clue where to get drugs if I wanted them. The most drug-related experience I've had was my drunk friend calling me at 2:35 in the morning on New Year's Eve.
What's bizarre is my school's populated with rich kids but situated in a really poor, run-down neighborhood, so drugs should be everywhere.

my school is filled w/ really wealthy kids, and there is nothing to do. so naturally, there is a huge alcohol and pot problem, but there's also a major underground cocaine scene that a lot of people don't know about until they go to a party w/ it.

i know people who are high through second period. it makes english fun; they definitely have a different view of things. lol. i've tried it but i don't really see what's so great about it. some people need drugs and alcohol to have fun (alcohol is a social lubricant), but i'm not one of them.

I've tried pot a few times since I've been in college. Plenty more people will smoke marijuana in college, trust me. I'm not a stoner and I set a limit to myself of once a month. People can do whatever they want to do as long as it doesn't affect others.

Are you asking what being high feels like? Well the first time, and maybe even second time, you won't even get high. You basically feel really light, especially your head. For me I get heat sensations all around my body and certain muscles in my upper chest feel strange. I suspect certain things happen for everyone. I can't stop laughing. If my friend starts laughing, I'll just join him even though I have no idea what he's laughing about. All your senses are completely amplified. I believe I described it as "my voice is outside of my body, talking to me" once.

There is the bad side of being high. Sometimes people can get really paranoid and it starts to get really awful. It happened to me once. I thought a girl was holding a bb gun aimed at me when really it was a pencil.

I live in a poor area, and go to a poor school. I don't know anyone personally that drinks or does drugs, and I've never done that before either. I knew some rich kids in DC, and they did drugs and drunk for fun, so I guess rich kids tend to do that stuff more often.

The majority of the students in my school are wealthy so they have alot of money to spend on random things. My school is also in the city so it doesn't make anything better.

Pot has become the "in" thing. It has been for the past couple of years. All the uber-popular students do it. There's an underground pot ring in my school and I find it to be hilarious. It's not even the stereotypical drug dealer that you see on tv. It's basically a bunch of rich elite kids who think they are cool.

I find it tremendously ironic because since pot has been a mainstream thing at my school, the teachers have been complaining that the students have been behaving worse and doing worse in school. Some of the teachers know whats going on but there's no way for them to prove it and if something was proven, there would be a big uproar in my city because my school is supposedly "#1 in WNY and #4 in the nation according to Newsweek".

I'm just waiting for the administration to discover that there's a huge potring in my school and everything come toppling down. I mean I have nothing against the drug but when you march around and flaunt yourself and your crew and bully other people just because they aren't potheads is pretty low and dumb in my opinion.

Don't you get "randomly" drug-tested like twice a week? I know our school does. Don't they take hair samples or urine samples so they can see if you have been in contact with drugs??? I know our school does coz drugs are so readily available in this country.

ive gotten stoned a couple ties before.
no biggy.
teh actual proccess of getting stoned aint so fun though,
and i drive like crap when imstoned.

but being drunk?
fun fun fun.
except when i hook up with bad kids.

and i just saw one of them tonight.
and i was with my best friend and her boyfriend at a paryt.
and me and my freind weere gonna leave and her boyfriend was like let me walk you out.
and then the guy i hooked up with before was like yeah i will go outside too.
so i am waiting for him to like follow me to my car or something?
does it happen?
no.
and its not like i wanted him to follow me to my car but it;s just the fact that he didn't follow me to my car.
and he still hasnt called asking for a quikie hook up.
i wish he would so i could cancel him.

Most of my school are rich as well--the rich kids in my class go out drinking and such from time to time...they have time and money, and nothing better to do I guess. I watch and sigh.

I attend an uppermiddle class school in nyc, and i've noticed that the main drugs of choice are alcohol and pot. Whereas whenever i'm with my friends from Connecticut or my friends from really fancy private schools the drugs of choice are a wide variety, like cocaine, acid, pot, everything basically. One thing I noticed is that because some of these kids are so rich, they give out drugs for free. For example, my good friend who was going to a top 25 university for football, became a cocaine addict because one time he and I were at a party and someone offered us cocaine and from then on he became a coke addict, he's in rehab right now, but he basically lost his shot at playing football. I don't really see anything wrong with getting stoned, the effects aren't as severe as other drugs, and personally I think its a lot better then getting drunk. I am concerned about the above post, where smufette posted that she drove stoned, not a good idea at all.

It's true that being drunk is just as bad, if not worse, as being stoned. We've just all been put through the propaganda like DARE that marijuana is bad! But alcohol is okay because everyone drinks alcohol! Give me a break.

Alcohol affects the entire body. Marijuana only really affects your brain. Alcohol can also give a physical addiction, Marijuana cannot.

I drink too but I just find it ridiculous how society has this double standard.

i've never drank or smoked anything in my life (except the occasional sip or two from my parents drinks)...however this is extremely rare seeing that i am the only one of my friends who hasn't experimented with alcohol and drugs. it's really easy to get because i live in a college town where we have the most bars per capita in the nation and everyone owns a fake id whether or not you drink, you just do so you can go downtown and meet people, dance, etc. but yeah its a huge problem at our school. our school president just got a PAULA like 3 weeks ago. haha makes our school look realllyyy good and he had just gotten into UPenn and now he has to call them and they have the option to reverse their decision. although, i dont think they will. hes a good kid and made a mistake. but still...its scary.

i go to one of those "work hard party hard" schools. the overachievers were also the druggies.

alcohol is the most common. weed is very common, as is adderall and there are a few coke users. im sure there are other things, but as far as most popular..thats them.

I'd consider my high school "normal." People are high-achieving, everyone goes to college, and the class size is small. There's plenty of alcohol, less pot but use is still considerable especially as you move out of the popular crowd (the common consensus there is that drunk > high), a handful of prescription drug enthusiasts, and a handful of cocaine users. Hallucinogen use is there, but very little compared to the big 3--alcohol pot and pills. And of course, plenty of smoking.

There are a bunch of druggies at my school, but I don't think that almost everyone does drugs, atleast not in my group. I go to a pretty wealthy public school, and it's really hard to tell who does drugs. not many people are open about it
