I have an interesting idea for college application.

For all the asians that are encourage for a balanced application, why not lopside it?

I am asian and I plan on marketing myself as a Math and Science guy. I will back this up with Tremondously array of prestigious awards. Test scores will also reflect my science and math aptitude. Test scores is also Superb (SAT 2370 first try).
Is this a good idea? Of course I will have other stuff like trumpet, leadership, sports, and that kind of stuff.

I am basing my application against common sense. I will market myself in the most Asian way possible and hopefully destroy the applications of other Asians i am compared to.

look up recent speeches given by the President & mission statements of the schools. Ex: MIT is working towards “going green,” so you can talk about working w/ renewable energy or how you feel whenever you see a kid throw away a plastic bottle. etc etc (president recently adressed their environmental movement). So, you can express your love of the environment and your desire to promote environmental consciousness & increased eco-friendly technological advances etc. then, presto—this kid’s a perfect fit(as long as it’s not a big-fat-lie)

Um, the best way to stand out as Asian would be to score horribly on Math and 800 the CR and Writing section.
As all of your awards have writing / poetry / debate / etc. awards and no math/science awards.
Also never take calculus in high school and get Bs in math and physics. As in everything else.

Btw you will never be the “most Asian” applicant a college gets unless you win like gold medal at the IMO or something.

to Feuxfollets: really? Have you won the state Music Olympiad with a Violin? Have you won the state’s Math competition silver medal as a sophomore? About test scores, i already got a 800 CR 800 M and 770 Writing.
