I know for sure that I want to be a little creative with my transfer applications. I'm sure the schools I am applying to are not picky about the way an application should look (University of Vermont, Champlain College, St. Michael's College) and with that said, I would like to do something that will help me stand out. From stationary to the envelope, I have some cute ideas that might please the admissions dept. For those of you who have or have heard of others doing the same thing please share. I am not making this post to steal others ideas for my own, but just for the sole purpose of curiosity. :D

Bumping this.

I wouldn't advise it. I've seen job seekers try to get "creative" with stationery or the content of their resumes, and while that makes for fun water-cooler stories, they are rarely successful.

BTW, don't bother with any creativity in envelopes. I can almost guarantee you that a secretary or mail clerk will open the application and toss the envelope, so no decision-maker will ever see it.

Any creativity that you use with applications should be by doing things like writing your essays and short answers with as much originality (but be truthful) and flair as possible. Don't waste admissions officers' time with things like cute envelopes. That's not going to impress them.

^ Agreed.
Did you hear about that one kid who cut his application up into puzzle pieces and had the admin piece them together?
That's just hilarious.

LOL. No he didn't? Did he get in?

that's ridiculous. lol ^^

I've heard of crazier stories (and they always got in, annoyingly!).

for stanford's "if you could have a picture what would it be" essay:
