Marlboro College Offering 52 Full Scholarships This year

Just heard about this on Marketplace this morning on the radio. Here is a link (if they let me post this!) to the short podcast about Marlboro. What a great school for individual attention. And it’s in a gorgeous area of Vermont known for skiing and culture.

I have been to this campus. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering it, visit FIRST. It is not for everyone.

Of course! What school is for everyone? This is a great school for someone considering Hampshire, Bennington, Sarah Lawrence, Pitzer, College of the Atlantic, Warren Wilson or any of the other smallish schools that allow students to choose their own courses of study. Even a Colorado College person might like it at Marlboro.

Does any one know anything about the graduate program at Marlboro College entitled MAT In Ecological and Leadership?

What’s the campus like?

@Madison85 the campus is very rural Vermont-looking: the classic and clean-looking white clapboard buildings with peaked roofs. The setting is gorgeous. Have you looked at their website? The school has two campuses, one for undergrad and one for grad. The undergrad is rural. The grad is in Brattleboro. The undergrad campus is very close to Brattleboro, though. Brattleboro is an adorable town with cafes, music venues, craft beers, great food, bookstores, and is located nearly on the southernmost border of Vermont, so almost in Massachusetts. If you would consider Williams College, in terms of location Marlboro is similar. (Those two schools differ in many other ways, however.) Brattleboro area is known for arts, both craft-like and fine. The woods fill up with classical music in the summers, as musicians from NYC and Boston come to the area for the Marlboro Music Festival. All kind of other music is available year round in the town. Painters and other artists, some of whom have art in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, also have homes in the area. Clearly the area is prime for winter sports and summer hiking too! If you want to get to NYC, expect a 3-4 hour drive. It’s possible to get there for the weekend. If you want to get to Boston, expect 2.5-3 hours of driving.
