Anyone else?

Is anyone else planning on or considering going to Marlboro in the fall? I just got my acceptance packet and I'm positive that it's where I will be this autumn.

Congrats. This is a very fine school from what I know about it.

Congrats on getting in. I am just applying to Marlboro now...I wish I wouldn't have waited this long to start applying. I don't even know what to write.
But anyway, what exactly is campus like? I'm kind of worried about the small campus size. And just curious, what other schools did you apply to?

I found the campus very energized, bohemian-like, ya know? It had an artsy, historical, and very New England-y atmosphere. The campus itself didn't seem too small maybe because of the breadth of facilities offered or the diversity of buildings and people around. That was one thing that seemed special to me: the people. Students, administrators, professors, they all seemed to have a purpose. Everyone was on a "mission" to learn. Everyone was involved and apathy seemed almost non-existent. I mean really where can you hide on a campus of ~300, when you haven't done your work? It was amazing...
I sincerely think you should visit after you apply or before, if there is time and you live near enough. I am in love with Marlboro College. If you do have anymore questions keep postin' or call the Admissions Office, they are extremely friendly.
I also applied to Sarah Lawrence, Saint John's College, GWU, Reed, and Eugene Lang. What about you?

Welcome. Yeah, we're definitely tiny compared to pretty much everywhere else, but you'll appreciate the short walks when it gets -10 and you have classes in 3 different buildings. The small population and the remoteness does tend to creep up on ya though, and having a car is definitely a plus. The administration staff is ridiculously friendly and approachable and probably will know you by first name before the first semester is over, and you won't be able to hide from the professors - they'll sometimes even call or email you if you're out sick to see if you're okay. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, well, that depends on you.

i thought about applying, but decided that st. john's college in santa fe would be a better pick for my personality. However, I wish I could go to both! It seems like such an amazing educational experience.

There's a fairly specific "Marlboro type" of students and you'd get weeded out pretty fast before reaching your plan years typically. Yeah, the small size gets bothersome, especially when sometimes there's no real social activity or you get snowed in and whatnot, but I mean, what do you expect in the mountains of Vermont?
