I found out I will be living in markley this upcoming fall and i was wondering where i can find the dimensions of the furniture. I have a futon that I want placed under my lofted bed that is 70 inches long I just want to make sure everything fits.
@umich19 from the university housing website: http://www.housing.umich.edu/undergrad/lifespace-ii. That link should give you everything you would want to know.
My daughter was in a double last year in Couzens with double lofted set of beds. There’s NO way they could have got a futon in there. Markley traditionally has smaller rooms as well…Good luck though!!!
The Markley dorms are the size of a small walk in closet. Good luck! I lofted my bed and put a small chair underneath the loft. It was nice…but small! It was like living in a line. Desk at one end, bed on top, closet and dresser, chair underneath. Quite comical.
Markley is quite small. For the largest double rooms in some other dorms, if both beds are lofted together, it may be possible to fit a futon in the room. For freshmen, you don’t have a chance to pick the room and see the dimension. For return students, they will know the dimensions from the floor map when picking the room. Even double rooms in the same dorm may have up to 20% difference in size.
