I'm from New York. I don't drink or anything but I am really social, and I don't want a mostly white people school but even a little diversity helps. Money is really not a problem. I'm really cheery and all - school spirit is a must. I'm not really liberal, more conservative on gay marriage.

I was accepted to
Maryland (history) out of state
Northeastern (international affairs)
American (international affairs)
and waitlisted to George Washington (international affairs focusing on global health). If I do get unwaitlisted I'll probably go there though.

I have visited Northeastern and George Washington. And I plan on visiting UMD and American in the coming week.

I want to focus more on the global health, so I'll probably do pre-med. BUT I do need a place to send in a deposit, and where I have a possibility of going to. Can you list me the pros and cons of each school - I tried but I need more insight. Thanks!

i really need help!! thanks.

hmmm all of those schools seem very liberal to me
and I've heard american and gw have a lot of gay students (I'm sure md and nu do as well)
as for drinking you should know that maryland is pretty well known as a party school
but theres a lot of pride there
I think american's the least diverse out of those but they are all pretty diverse (only around 50-60% caucasian)

Socially active, diversity, school spirit and good academics = UMD

My S list included all 4 of your schools and likewise was accepted at 3 and wl at GWU. He ultimately chose another school but UMD-CP was his 2nd choice. There are lots of kids so you will definitely find your niche group and UMD is the one with the strongest school spirit. I also think there will be plenty of opportunities to pursue your interest in global health. I think you will like what you see during your visit. Good luck.

I'm in pretty much the same situation as you. I am trying to decide between Maryland and Northeastern and I keep going back and forth. Both school are so different, so its really hard to compare.
