I am going in as a journalism major. Any suggestions about which Honors program may be right for me? I'm thinking def not Integrated Life Science, but not totally ruling out Gemstones( though I feel like it really is science oriented, though the website tries to make it sound open to all majors)

Digital Cultures and Creativity focuses on computer programming and the humanities, which includes journalism. You may want to check it out. Otherwise, University Honors is probably your best bet.

Yeah I was thinking those two or Honors Humanities( since I’ll probably double major in the humanities)

Does anyone know how many people are offered admission to the Honors Program

I dont know how many people are offered admission, but on the website it breaks down how many students per program like 70 for humanities, 200 for university honors, etc. I’m assuming this per class(as in class of 2015).

Just trying to get an idea of odds for B/K scholarship. That is a lot of honors students and only 150 B/K scholarships. Might have better chance winning the lottery.

@33, I believe the 150 number is matriculation. Many more are offered. Less than half accept. (these students have many great offers)
If you are in the top 1-2% of applicants, you have a shot. Invitations will be mailed soon.

I feel like alot of people got into honors this year and with not extremely competitive stats( myself included and I know a girl who didnt even get into her LEP but got honors) so i don’t think the overall honors pool is indicative of B/K

Does anybody know if honors is more competitive than scholars? I got accepted into the honors program, but I was really hoping to be in the Civicus program. Does anybody know if we can switch (or request to switch) honors programs?

Does anyone have any advice on deciding which Honors program would be smartest for an engineering major? Note: I will be going into next year as a freshman with 24 college credits already completed and am willing to take advantage of that to broaden my load.

I’m pretty sure gemstone would be the most valuable, but if you want to branch out a bit, theres always University Honors, which is by far the most flexible
