You do realize this is a US Census report correct? It’s not some random side blog. And yeah value always makes a difference. Alabama is one of the best values in the country. Doesn’t mean anybody wants to live there.

Yeah we aren’t the best at athletics in the country. Texas with football and Florida obviously are up there. But for our medium size we are very strong. D.C.-Balt is probably the top basketball area in the country.

Maryland is the richest state in the country [by a measly $167). Doesn’t mean anybody wants to live there.

Yeah I just make fun of Jersey to play with them a little. We are very similar states. But we don’t have a low guido population and have an actual city.

As for MD, yeah we’re pretty beastly. I don’t know if people think about us much because of our size but they should. America in miniature. Rich. Great diversity. We’re the smartest state in the country. And have the best team in the NFL. :)

Congrats Maryland, but look at us up north. We get 68k, plus free money from the government, terrific public schools (good enough that there’s no market for private ones), plenty of space, wild animals at the front door; all the while putting up with -60 degree winters only warmed by volcanic eruptions.

LOL ok there Alaska …

Your right about lax. However, people seriously underestimate the talent that comes out of Baltimore’s high school basketball programs. Easily some of the best in the country.

We also have amazing baseball and soccer. Calvert Hall is consistently ranked near the top in national baseball rankings. McDonogh boys are ranked # 2 nationally for soccer by ESPN. McDonogh girls are ranked #8 nationally for soccer by ESPN.

DeMatha has one of the best all-around athletic programs in the country.

Oh, and City vs. Poly is one of the country’s oldest and best high school football rivalries.

So, I’d say we have some of the best high school athletics in the country.

Lol, tbh source doesn’t matter. Statistics are still statistics. Clearly the population size affects the rankings.

And $167 is like what, the price of a vacuum? lol

And LOL @ Alaska.

Government related reports have no obligation to make their data statistically correct, as long as they report truthfully. If you’ve seen Anti-Drug ads or any other ridiculously incorrect Ad Council ads, you would know.

This is the truth, that Maryland has the highest median income. But it doesn’t mean anything unless its compared to states with similar size. In my opinion, a proper comparison would be number of Representatives. So comparing state median incomes to other states with the same number of Representatives, give or take 1 or 2, would make sense. The writer of the article was foolish for comparing Maryland to California, for example, which has almost 7 times as many Representatives as the former. Or even Jersey for that matter (5 more)

That statistic might not mean people want to live here but, secretly we know, we’re the most attractive state in the country. Stop denying it. Just makes you look foolish.

Wow that sounds AWESOME!!!

Noo, you mean MD is a lot like NJ .

Forgot about soccer. Gooch is from Maryland. And don’t forget swimming. Top swimming areas outside of California.

I think we can all agree that MD and NJ are the two best states.

(Although, Maryland is slightly better.)

^^^lol, true. It’s crappy imitator. NJ came first. :p

^Ha, hardly.

Since when was MD like NJ? In all honesty I don’t know much at all about Maryland, the state just seems kinda boring to me.

Of course population size matters in searching for the mean. Shouldn’t it? I don’t get your point. I’d much rather have 100,000 people that average 90K a year than 120,000 that average 85K.

NJ is clearly inferior to MD. Baltimore>Newark. MD has a way more interesting geography (Chesapeake, Mountains). Ocean City MD > Ocean City NJ. NJ politics are way more corrupt. MD’s schools are better.

What are you talking about? Of course population matters. That’s like elementary math concept. It won’t mask the outliers and the mean can be distorted, silly.

I’m not going to agree with this. For starters, Connecticut is much better than New Jersey. It’s basically the same state without all the negatives of New Jersey. (guidos and ghettos) I also think Colorado would probably be ahead of Jersey. If I had to rate the top 5 it would be
