What about Massachusetts?:)

Do you actually think a population with almost 6 million is going to face that much variation with a population 3 million higher? You must’ve bombed the AP Stat test.

Top 2 for me, in terms of overall outlook:

Washington State

California

Texas would be wayyyy down there. Unfortunately, it’s where I live right now.

Wait what’s so good about Connecticut again? Or Rhode Island?

Massachusetts is amazing in that the people of Mass are actually able to surpass Jersey people in douchiness. Phenomenal.

Erm, not really. Pittsburgh is very nice. As far as Wyoming goes, I’m sure Jackson helps move Wyoming up a bit.

No, it’s not even close. Very good, but tops? No.

Maryland is certainly one of the most well rounded states in terms of HS athletics. As far as high school football rivalries, my high school holds the distinction of the oldest HS football rivalry in the US.

Oh yeah Massachusetts is definitely up there on the list.

If California was like three different states, two of them would be the best in the country.

I disagree. What is better in your opinion? New York? No chance. LA? No.

Just look at recent drafts.

MD’s street cred is invalidated by the fact that it has one of the worst teams in baseball.

CA ftmfw. Best sports, best weather, and best looking girls. kthxbai

Hmm I like Massachusetts.

Ironic that hatersunite of all posters would comment on douchiness of other states.

So basically: North East states >>> all others.

Smilemyonly:

MD and NJ are both very wealthy, extremely diverse, and highly educated. They also both have huge, almost endless suburban areas unlike anywhere else in the country.

hatersunite:

I gotta disagree with your list. I would never put a southern state in the top 5.

Freakin’ cold.

Yes, the Northeastern states are better than all the rest.

diontechristmas:

I will concede that football point to you. Football isn’t really one of Maryland’s strengths(besides a few glaring exceptions).

However, I stand firm on the basketball part. DC-Baltimore has the best high school basketball in the country. Bar none.

How are the Northeastern states the best?

Because you are extremely close minded. That’s ok. We Marylanders get used to dealing with lower intelligence. After all, we are the smartest people in the country.

Things I can think of doing in New Jersey -

I’m pretty sure most non-NJ people here would agree with me. There is literally nothing attractive about New Jersey.

Things to do in Maryland

Bottom line is states without cities are boring. New Jersey has no cities. Sorry.

Rhode Island is run by the mafia. It’s not good at all.

What’s great about Connecticut? Well it basically is filled with some of the best suburbs in the country next to the best city in the country without all the negatives of New Jersey.
