Marymount Manhattan vs. Brooklyn College

Hello! I was recently accepted into the BFA Acting major at Marymount Manhattan and Brooklyn College. I feel like I have mostly made my decision as to which school I'd like to attend, but I really really want to hear any type of outsider (or insider) feedback about the programs. Which would you choose (just out of curiosity)? Thank you very much!

Congrats! I fell in love with Marymount right away, I love the small school and the location. I will be going there Fall '13 and was accepted into the Theatre Design and Tech program, and I’ll double major in Communications. I don’t really know much about Brooklyn College, so I can’t help you there, but I have visited MMC 5 times and each time I am there I love it even more. I can’t wait to start (don’t know how I’ll make it through the rest of high school) I was also impressed by their internship program.

Congratualtions! Marymount’s program is more well-known at this point, but Brooklyn College is making some very interesting connections with Steiner Studios recently. What are some of your requirements or constraints that would push you to one or the other?

Thank you both! I’m mainly looking at curriculum, campus and prices. I know MMC is more expensive, but during the audition process, I felt that the little exposure I had to their teaching was amazing. The people at Brooklyn College are so sweet and accomodating. They truly feel like a family there. I like the MMC campus more than BC and I love the idea of being right there in Manhattan. I have to admit that I am looking for a very well-respected school in terms of the industry’s views in NYC, but from what I gather, they both have fantastic programs. I am very curious to hear what people think about these BFA acting programs.

Objectively speaking- sounds to me like MMC is your choice as you have written more positives about that school than the other. Seems like only price is the biggest difference. Good luck!
