How about Clarkson Golden Knights and copycat UCF Golden Knights?

The new Las Vegas NHL team has that mascot. But the US Army is disputing the trademark.
University of Rhode Island has UNC’s colors and the tune from UNC’s fight song, with different lyrics.
Georgetown’s colors are blue and gray because when the Civil War broke out, students and alumni ended up on both sides of the conflict.
Providence College has black and white because the Dominican Friars who run the school wear black and white robes. They are sometimes called the ‘blackfriars’ to distinguish them from the ‘brownfriars’ (Franciscans).
There may be many schools we are some form of blue and yellow, but only one school that is “Maize and Blue”! 
@garland–University of Rochester is “dandelion” and blue–paying homage to all the dandelions in the former cow pasture where the original campus was built!
