<p>Does anyone have any insight on the vocal performance programs at Rutgers/Mason Gross and/or Montclair State/John J. Cali School of Music?</p>

<p>A quick scan of the prior Master List of Acceptance threads shows no one reporting a vocal performance (or vocal music ed) acceptance at Rutgers, although there have been a number of instrumentalists that have.</p>

Mason Gross has a fine reputation particularly for music ed, and some strong instrumental faculty who also teach at the NYC conservatory programs. Can’t help with voice, but you might want to pm lorelei2702.</p>

<p>Last year, there seemed to be major issues with scholarship monies largely due to delayed NJ budget and the financial clime as I recall. A lot of state schools have felt the crunch.</p>

<p>In the case of Montclair, JerseyBabe’s daughter auditioned and was accepted (Fall 09).</p>

<p>Solid program, particularly for jazz. Again, I can’t speak to vocal.</p>

<p>Westminster Choir College is highly regarded.</p>
