Mass e-mail or likely e-mail?

Did everyone get an e-mail today saying that soon the wait will be soon be over and the decision will be in your court?

I did! I was hoping it would include the date of their decision, but oh well!

My D got this email too. I had to ask her after I saw these posts!

I got that e-mail too. I think they send it to everyone.

there’s a thread on here from a previous year where a lot of people received this same email, so they determined it was a mass email. that said, the kids on this website are generally the kind which might get a likely letter, so maybe it is a likely letter…i guess we’ll see soon. :)

My child did not get one–which, if it is a likely letter, I’m glad about, since I do not want my kid to go there. It will take away the decision. It’s nothing against the school; I just don’t want to pay for it.

yea i got one as well, and judging by all the replies here (other than eastcoast101…) it seems like a mass letter…or maybe it is a likely letter and we’re all just that awesome :)

I also received the email. Speaking of which, does anyone know what date AU will mail out acceptances? Is it the last week in march?

Update–My child did get one. It went to a different email account than the one used for regular emails.

Definitely a mass email. I think decisions are emailed before April 1.

My D received the email, and twice in it, it refers to getting your acceptance, and then stuff about looking for the financial aid offer after the acceptance. If it was just a general “the wait is almost over” type thing, why would it not say “decision” instead? Sounds kind of like a “likely” by the wording.

I was concerned after I had heard that others received something that they considered to be a likely email, because American has sent me several pieces of correspondence but nothing that stood out to me as indicating my possible acceptance. I looked again through my email and found one labeled AU Advisor regarding college admissions decisions. Perhaps I received something different from the rest of you, but I did not pick up on the slightest hint of a desire to accept me. It was just general information about analyzing decisions (including acceptances) from any college, not just American.

Our d got an email saying good new is on the way on March 12 2008 (I know because it was saved). This email had a link to an acceptance letter as I recall. The link does not work anymore so I am not sure.

Most colleges only send likely letters to a very small percentage of the students who are offered admission. Some mainly send them to athletes. Don’t worry about not getting a likely letter.

anyone get a likely e-mail or acceptance today? my friends did and i didn’t so now i’m freaking out!
