Massive East Coast Blizzard

^“BTW, driving in this is ■■■■■■■■ at least in my area.”

Although it said in his area I hold this true for Va last night. Don’t worry. =)

It is pretty ■■■■■■■■ to drive when the roads are all messed up, yet my Dad needed something from Lowe’s so he and my mom went earlier, but they got back safely and bought me slippers! :)

Oh no! Snow! It looks very dry, though. And there still isn’t much, maybe 3-4 inches so far but it is blowing all over the place so it’s hard to tell.

Yeah, no one was out driving in my area either. But, I had that darn critique…

For all of you in the metropolitan DC area (other than Loudoun County in VA), why don’t they have school closings for this school week up yet? Usually for a snow storm of this magnitude, they would have already announced school closings for tomorrow and Tuesday and Wednesday.

Does this mean there’s a possibility we will only have a 2-hour delay or gasp open on time? There’s no way they can open on time, just look outside! There’s 20+ inches. People can’t even walk through it. The temperatures will go below freezing tonight and hopefully the roads will freeze over and get icy.

Let’s hope the rest of the area follows in Loudoun County’s example… (they closed down schools for Monday and Tuesday and coincidentally their winter break starts on Wednesday!)

Same here. I might have like 14 inches or so.

Seriously, I miss living in Plattsburgh. This “blizzard” wouldn’t have even made the news there.

Where I live, they usually close school if snow is forecasted - sometimes it doesn’t even snow, but school is still cancelled!

Where I live, a weekend storm wouldn’t get school closed on Monday. At most, it would get a two-hour delay.

We didn’t get as much snow as I thought we would where I live. But it is pretty.

i’m already off for winter break! i wish this storm had happened on wednesday though…then my 3-test thursday wouldve been cancelled!

^ Amen, except I had a 4-test Thursday. At least winter break is here, finally.

Yes it would have. Stop acting lame. 20 inches of snow in 24 hours would even be major news in Michigan.

Kindly kiss my ass, my friend. Where I am, barely has a foot of snow. Again, wouldn’t have been a big deal. Somehow I suspect I know what’s normal for my hometown a little bit more.

^^Plattsburgh has repeatedly said he’s in NYC. They didn’t get anywhere near as much snow as the places further down south did. I assume that’s what he’s comparing Plattsburgh to, since…you know, he can’t really see the local news in more southern areas.

A foot of snow is not a big deal for a city that’s practically in Canada. I’m from a city that’s near the very north end of Vermont and I can say that no, a foot of snow would not have been huge coverage. but maybe you know better than I, too.

Sort of reminds me of how when it rains in L.A., that’s pretty big news.

lol Big news for us is heat.

The local news where I live mentioned the storm but did so in passing, I guess for people traveling for the holidays but it was hardly a big deal and didn’t huge coverage.

There are places in southern jersey with over 50" of snow, according to one local news station lol.

I had to get up early to shovel snow so my dad could get to work. It sucked, cause the street snow shovels didn’t a very good job and there was like 3 feet of pushed-aside snow at the entrance to our driveway that I had to shovel away.

I sort of wish I lived in New Jersey now.

A lot of people don’t like me for this, but I really like snow. Lots of snow. Even if shoveling is involved.

This is all we have:

Fresh Direct canceled my grocery delivery for this little stuff. :(

Looks like more than we’ve got.

No question about it, there will be school tomorrow. I don’t think there’s ice, either, since cars seem to be driving pretty fast today.
