Congratulations to Mezzo’sMama and daughter.

Congrats, Mezzo’sMama!

Yay! Congrats to Mezzo’sMama and D! :)

percussiondad-I am lurking. S is a sophomore percussionist and there were few percussionists 2 years ago also. S was accepted at DePaul as a transfer-he just needs to make up his mind! Your D made out very well!

That’s great news Mezzo’sMama! It looks like my son will probably accept CIM’s offer as they will allow him to minor in composition.

Congrats to Mezzo’sMama and D, and to everyone else!

Hawrn, I figured there were a few lurkers here. Thank you my D has done well but right now is struggling big time with this decision though. She must decide by Monday and she is going crazy. We are supporting her decision but can’t offer much more than our understanding. Good luck to your Site in making his decision.
Congrats to everyone for the fantastic offers and I hope so much that they all succeed. I envy the talent and dedication they all have. Musically I am able to turn on the CD player. Lol

Congratulations to hawkrn and son (we count transfer acceptances as well).

Percussiondad and hawkrn,

I’m really a lurker but do post sometimes. My son will be attending the Eastman School of music this fall in the percussion studio. BM Performance/Music Ed. The pool of talent this year was pretty good and there seems to be a good number of them out there.

Percussiondad, I myself was a Crane graduate and Jim Petercsak was my private teacher as a kid.

bigdjp: congrats to your son for getting into and going to Eastman, that is no small feat. JP is a good man and has been a great mentor for my D, it has been one of those love/hate relationships but he has always done well by her. Wishing your son the very best in the future. My D was abosulutely thrilled to have been accepted at NYU Steinhart, McGill and University of Toronto. By next week I should be able to post where she has decided to go.

Congratulations, bigdjp and son. Please let us know if he had any other acceptances so we can put them on the list.

Just came here to tell shellybean, I’m SO HAPPY it all worked out!

New to the forum, though I’ve been lurking and creeping for years. Daughter #2 accepted to Ithaca for BM in Music Ed./Performance on violin ($15,000 in scholarships, plus another $3300 in grants), SUNY Fredonia in Performance ($4000 in scholarships), and to UMD College Park for Music Ed. ($8000 in scholarships). I had never posted anything about D #1, who’s a sophomore at Crane (my alma mater) for Music Ed. (also violin), so I figured I’d finally jump in and post about D #2.

Congratulations to Momof2violinists and daughter #2, as well as a bit late to daughter #1. Would the program at Ithaca be a dual major resulting in one degree, or would it involve completely separate degrees for Performance and Music Ed?

Momof2violinists-sent you a private email

Daughter received her official acceptance to Northeast Oklahoma State University school of music the other day. Due to her career plan they suggested a few different degree options, so for now we’ll just say flute performance. They also encouraged her to audition for their jazz program, but she hasn’t made a decision about that yet. She only auditioned at her three favorite in-state universities to save money for grad school, so we’re only waiting on one more acceptance. We haven’t received any official scholarship information yet except a few academic awards.

Congratulations to AliT0173 and daughter. I am unable to find a Northeast Oklahoma State University. There seems to be a Northwest Oklahoma State University and a Northeastern State University that happens to be in Talequah, OK. Was it one of these and, if so, which? Is the music degree there a BM, a BA or something else?

BassDad, the BM Music Ed./Performance program at Ithaca leads to dual degree in 4-1/2 years. BTW, thanks for all you do!!

Sorry, that was suppose to be Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah. She actually has her choice of a BM, BA, or BME, so for now we’ll just go with BM.

And yes, thank you for all you do!
