I don’t know for certain for sax, but I do know several bassists there and they have always been pretty generous with talent money. Best of luck to your son, Saxmom67!

I checked my school mailbox for the first time in four weeks yesterday… and found a letter dated January 24th stating I was accepted to Indiana University for the MM in Vocal Performance. Pretty cool.

Congratulations Georgeanne.

Georgeanne - Congrats! You are certainly very calm about this or just too busy to check your mailbox.

Have heard back from most schools regarding acceptances to academic program (got into all waiting on 2 more) and now starting to hear back about the music programs. Still auditioning so have some more to hear from bit so far son got accepted into University of Rhode Island and Mansfield University. BM Music Ed on trumpet. Yay!

Congratulations to SJSMOM and son.

I was accepted to IU Jacobs SOM for MM Viola Performance. If anyone is wondering, my audition date was February 1, so they are already rolling out decisions from their second weekend of auditions.

Congratulations lukeg3891.

I auditioned at USC for BM violin on January 28th. Does anyone know when decisions for usc come out?

Music1lover, I’m pretty sure they said April 1, but it might be a bit sooner. I wouldn’t expect anything until next month! (I auditioned for BM voice)

Thanks ImThinking, that makes sense because its a major university. I hope you get accepted, ImThinking! Is April 1 the date then that northwestern decisions come out too?

Last year it was sometime during the last week of March but can’t remember exact day. Start checking USC’s forum during that time because people living on the west coast seem to get their packages a day or 2 earlier.

Son accepted at University of Colorado - Denver for Commercial Voice. Yea!

My daughter was accepted to UT Austin’s Butler School of Music for violin performance.

Does anyone know when the University of Michigan SoM decisions come out? I auditioned last week (2/8)! Thanks

Tubagurl, my D was at U. Michigan on that day too. The admissions counselor promised decisions in 3-4 weeks.

It could be even a little earlier. Back in 2009, my son’s interview/audition was on Feb. 13 and he was notified of acceptance by Feb. 27th. It depends on the program. Best wishes!

D was accepted for oboe performance at UIUC. They just released their RD for all majors a few minutes ago. Prof. told her at audition 2 weeks ago already, but I don’t believe until I see it in writing. She likes the music school and oboe prof there very well, visited 3 times counting audition. She didn’t apply at any of the tippy top places, but has also been unofficially accepted at her top choice school where she has already a good academic merit scholarship, and in a warmer climate, will report on that in several weeks.

Congratulations to mamakin and son, to StringPop and daughter, and to celesteroberts and daughter.

My D just auditioned at U of Mich yesterday, and they told us it could be as early as two Weeks or 4, depending on whether or not their department meets before or after spring break. However, at the voice department meeting, they told us they were meeting in two Weeks.

Also, this was my D’s first audition where they asked her where else she was auditioning. Do they ask everyone this question, or should she take this as a possible good sign?
