Master List of Music School Acceptances, Fall 2013

I was accepted to Western Michigan University for Vocal Performance!! I learned over email :)

Congratulations, SopranosGotPower.

SopranosGotPower, when did you audition? We still haven’t heard yet, so I was just wondering.

Saxlady, I auditioned on February 8th.

Also, thank you BassDad!

Daughter accepted to the University of Oklahoma. Bachelor of Music Arts (flute). She was notified today by email. Scholarship information won’t be available until mid-March.

Auditioned at UNT on Saturday and received acceptance email today!!! S accepted for applied saxophone as a Music Ed major. Thrilled!!! Four for four!

I’m accepted by University of Michigan, MM in composition. I saw that from their wolverine access online after calling the admission office. They said for composition major, they have made some decisions, not all. So happy since it’s my dream school!!! The scholarship information will come out before March 31st.

Congratulations to klaustacy, and to NYsaxmom and son.

klaustacy, do you have an instrument (or voice) that you consider your primary?

Thank you BassDad! I’ve been playing the piano for over 15 years. And I think they will let me continue piano lessons at UMich based on what the teacher said in interview

My son was accepted at CSU Long Beach Bob Cole Conservatory of Music BM in trombone performance. We still haven’t received acceptance from the school itself, but the faculty who looked at his SAT scores and transcripts said they expected no problems
so that is good news. He has had several acceptances from colleges and waiting to hear from those music departments  He has his last audition at Cornish College this coming weekend but has had a great audition experience everywhere. Several schools have told him he will be receiving scholarship offers and that they are very interested in him attending their school
however, I will trust all of that when we receive the offers in writing
So glad to be going through this with an instrumentalist this time, 3 years ago was my daughter and musical theater programs
YIKES that was so stressful and filled with much more rejection although she ended up at a good program and doing well.
Glad this is our last one, I am bone tired.

Son accepted to U of Maryland, U of Maryland Baltimore County, George Mason U, and Towson U into the music composition w/trumpet emphasis degree programs. He received academic scholarships and music scholarships from a couple of the schools. We are still waiting to hear back (Regular decision applications) from Ithaca C and Lawrence U.

Congarts to you and your composer son, MTN! Hopefully, he will good news from Ithaca and Lawrence.

I just found out that I have been accepted as a vocal performance major to Westminster Choir College, with a $17,000 annual scholarship! :)

'bone tired, CalMTMom? Was that pun intended? Please let us know when the acceptances are official. Call me superstitious, but I strongly prefer to wait for the official word before adding an acceptance to the list. Congratulations in advance on what I hope will materialize for your son.

Congratulations to MomTeacherNurse and son, and to mezzo13.

Reply to BassDad: His secondary instruments are clarinet and piano.

Comp2013, might one of those be considered more of a primary instrument than the other? I will list both if he is equally facile on them. but prefer to list a single primary instrument when I can.

DS has 2 acceptances so far- UIUC and IU- both in trombone performace. Waiting on 2 more, with one audition left, as well as a few non-music schools. So far, the only scholarship info received is a $2k scholarship from UIUC that is strictly based on his academics. This is has been tough on me, but I think the waiting is the toughest part for DS. At least he has some, very limited, control on the audition. After that, it is all in someone elses hands. This could be a very long month!

Congratulations to headoflife and son. March will drag on forever. April through August will more than compensate in how rapidly they seem to pass.

S accepted to the University of Michigan, BM Double Bass Performance.
