Master List of Music School Acceptances, Fall 2013

S accepted to Fredonia. Music Ed, saxophone

Congratulations again to NYsaxmom and son.

You are the best BassDad :grinning:

So excited! I finally get to post something!! Son is accepted at: Loyola New Orleans - BM, vocal performance, $17,000 scholarship. SMU- BM, vocal performance.
TCU- BM, vocal performance.
Murray State- BA, vocal performance.
Waiting to hear about scholarship offers from the others. And finally, waiting on Baldwin Wallace, actually his first choice.
As an aside, we didn’t learn that son could (or even wanted to) sing classical music until 14 months ago. I’ll share our story in another thread in more detail but we could not have gotten to this point without the advice and tips gleaned from this site. Thanks Bassdad, musicamusica, mezzos mamma and many many others

Congratulations to neovoxdad and son. You are most welcome.

neovoxdad, you are quite welcome and congratulations to your son!!

Hi! I have been accepted to Duquesne University as a vocal performance major, and was awarded $15,500 in music and academic scholarships. Still waiting to hear back from all other schools I’ve applied and auditioned at! :)

Congratulations to mezzo13.

First scholarship info: Duquesne total of $16,000 for academic and music

Congratulations once more to NYsaxmom and son.

If you are collecting scholarship info as well, D received $19,000 from Shenandoah in Conservatory Scholarship and $17,000 in academic and jazz bass scholarship at Duquesne.

DD accepted to Jacobs! BME and BSOF - Voice.

Son accepted to Jacobs for composition

Congratulations Comp2013. If he goes there make sure he checks out Holographic - the student formed New Music Ensemble.

Having access to a new music ensemble is such a gift to composers!

And if there isn’t one - then the lesson is: START ONE YOURSELF!

Congratulations to gman11 and daughter, and to Comp2013 and son.

gman, what is the non-musical component of the BSOF?

Comp2013. does your son have an instrument that he would consider his primary (voice certainly could count)?

BassDad,
D hasn’t chosen the non musical compontent yet. She was accepted to both progams, likes both, but plans to start in BME. She likes music, and teaching, and good job prospects.

Jacobs is her dream school so she is very excited. She was also accepted to the Music programs at Illinois, Wisconsin, Butler, Miami Oh. (for your list). We will weigh out the options over next several weeks as scholarships become more clear.

So far accepted for Bassoon Performance to University of Texas - Austin! Still waiting to hear back from everywhere else.

Congratulations to SarahBassoon, and to gman11 and daughter.

gman, are the programs at the other schools for Music Ed, Performance or something else?
