Mastering Chemistry

I'm pretty convinced that this program is the spawn of satan. I am looking at the answer manual and putting in the same answers and it marks it wrong. I HATE IT!!!! Does anyone else use this program because I'm sorry if you do?

/rant

its nice how it lets you try the problem a couple of times before marking it wrong. im an instant gratification kind-of person, so i like the site. its also been quite forgiving in terms of sig figs

HOWEVER there are some absurd questions that i am absolutely positive i solved correctly that were marked incorrect. and it withholds correct answers, so its a bit frustrating at times…

You should note that while the questions on Mastering Chemistry are the same as those on the answer manual, the numbers/values will usually not be because Mastering Chemistry usually tweaks them. Refer to the manual only to see how the problem is solved, not what the answer is.

but yes, Mastering Chemistry is horrible

Hate to bring back an old thread but you’re right, this program is garbage.

Other programs like Mymathlab, show you examples and how to solve similar problems. This program on the other hand is pure trash.

I have to constantly meet up with a teaching assistant/professor/help center b/c of the crappiness of this program.

Oftentimes your professor is able to control how much extra help/resources you’re able to get. I know that with things like mathlab and webassign, the professor can choose to allow related videos and alternate versions/numbers-- and they can choose to make that unavailable.

I’m with you guys on this program being hell. At least the math versions will show you how to do one right etc, but with this program it either accepts it without a hitch or goes on about units etc. when it’s the correct one! Damn I miss paper assignments.
