I don't know If I'm doing this right, I just joined this site. But here goes:
I really don't know where to start and what types of schools to look at... These are some things about me:
1340/1600 and 2000/2400 SAT
30 ACT (35 English, 27 science, 24 math, 32 writing)
GPA somewhere in the 3.75-3.9 range. Haven't gotten back first quarter grades yet this year, but I did very well. I have taken 7 AP courses throughout high school (all that is offered at my school outside of math) I'm not huge on extracurriculars, but I am the VP of a service club and I participate in a Judicial Scholars program (no idea if that means anything) I play two sports but definitely won be playing in college. I'm in lots of clubs but I doubt most of them will do me any good. Tuition is definitely going to be considered, but for the purpose of this question, just forget about that. I have absolutely NO CLUE where to apply and where my scores will get me accepted or at least strong consideration. Help? :)
Oh and I really don't know what I wanna major in, just nothing math related lol.

How big of a school are you looking for? Do you care what region it’s in? What sort of students do you want to be surrounded by?

Size is not my biggest priority, but I’d prefer to avoid really small schools. And I’m pretty much considering anything east of the Mississippi lol

if you would consider a school in the south…your current stats would get you full tuition at UAB Welcome… would leave you with about 5-9K out of pocket per year (total cost of attendance is 20-24K)… strong school for sciences but has full compliment of majors, ie language, education, education, engineering, and more and all sciences.

11k undergrads, urban campus.

very generous with ap credit too. rolling admission, no essay (unless you apply to one of the 4 honors colleges)

Are you looking for West Coast schools or East Coast schools? Public or private, or both? Large class sizes or small class sizes? Are you looking for merit-aid? What can you afford?

Eastern schools and public or private, I do not really have a preference. As for price, I’ll definitely be looking for aid but I don’t want that to determine your answers to this question. I’d like to know some schools I could for sure get accepted to, and some reach schools as well.

It does no good to be accepted to a school if you can’t afford it. You need to ask your parents what they can contribute for school each year. The annual cost of a private college is in the $40-55K range (as is the cost of many out of state publics). You need to look at in-state publics or schools where you can get good merit aid if you can’t afford that.

I don’t think you are going to get many suggestions until you tell us what you can afford to pay, the size of school you’d prefer, public or private, your current state, your preferred location, and what you might want to major in. There are literally several thousand schools that could be discussed with the info you are giving right now. In the meantime, play around with the SuperMatch College Search on this site to get some ideas.

Also start thinking about what kind of environment you think you would like. Do you want to be surrounded by intellectuals or jocks? Are you preppy, goth or an average Joe? Do you want a greek scene? Are you a partier or do you want to avoid it altogether? Are you religious? Are you liberal or conservative? All of these things will factor into the college that’s the right fit for you.
