Help me find schools?

I'm a high school junior looking for some schools to visit this summer. I want schools in the south, preferably a bigger school (no less than about 7,000). Colleges in tennessee, mississippi, arkansas, alabama, georgia, and louisiana are probably the ideal location. I go to a strong public school near memphis, tn.
have a 32 ACT, 1840 SAT (bad i know), played varsity soccer for 4 years (could get a scholarship but not sure if I want to play in college). I don't have a ton of good ECs but I do have some volunteer activities and I am a tutor for a study skills class everyday instead of going to study hall. I want to get as much as financial aid as possible, but would probably have to be mostly merit-based, because my dad makes a good amount of money. I've been to U of Alabama, and I really liked it. What are some other schools I should be looking at?

Georgia Tech - they don’t really give much money though.

sorry, probably should have said what i want to major in… probably biology or healthcare related. Thanks for the reply, but Georgia Tech may be a reach for me.
Also, my gpa unweighted is 3.6, weighted: 3.9

If I were you I would leverage your soccer playing into an acceptance at a D3 school. I don’t know of any schools like these in the south, but I know a lot of friends who are going to play sports for schools like Oberlin, Kalamazoo College, University of Chicago.

hi soccerkid;
I assume since you visited 'Bama that you know their scholarship levels. With a 32-ACT and GPA above 3.5, you will receive the Presidential Scholarship. It’s full tuition for four years. From a financial standpoint, it’s hard to beat that.

My son chose UA last year over many other choices - and his freshman year experience was even better than he expected. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me or visit the UA forum.

Full tuition at Bama is great, but room and board is around 10K, and that’s quite a bit. I was really hoping to find places that I would have to spend less than that.
Thanks for the replies!

You should check out some of the state university’s around there. FSU!

Auburn is another. $10K is easily doable with summer and school year work plus an unsubsidized Stafford.

Few schools offer full rides which include room and board, and those are extremely competitive (everyone wants those scholarships). Room and board varies by school but $10K/year is a good average. Your dad makes good money. Have you asked him how much he is willing to pay? As Waverly stated, if necessary you can afford it on your own with jobs and an unsub loan.

They won’t be able to pay a whole lot, since I have 3 younger brothers. Money isnt a huge problem since I probably could get a job or loans… Any other school suggestions?
