Match schools for chem, engineering?

Please help! --suggest good match schools for undergraduate chemistry and also good match schools for chemical engineering?
Stats-
--rising senior
--class rank 3/400
--GPA 4.4 weighted, 4.0 unweighted
--SAT 2260 (CR 800, M 770, W 690)
--SAT ST Math II 800, Chem 800, Physics 800
--AP six courses so far, 5's on all exams

--Typical ECs and volunteer work for honor student, some sports, band; plus state debate champion two years in a row and captain of debate team. Passions--science, math, rhetoric.

(Maybe take SAT again to raise writing score?)
Thank you for suggestions!

Your GPA is high, so

Berkeley
UCLA

and perhaps

Caltech and Stanford too.

CalTech and Stanford would by no means be considered matches. Depends on where you want to be located but maybe U of Michigan, Rice, Pitt, Carnegie Mellon.

RPI and Stevens IT are matches.

Also consider Cornell.

If you at all consider Michigan, look at U of I too. Great program, big state school. Just depends on what you’re looking for in a college.

apply to:

Harvard
Princeton
Cornell
Stanford
MIT
CalTech
Carnegie Mellon
Harvey Mudd
Rice
UC Berkeley
UC San Diego
Univ. of Michigan

you will get into a couple of the above

good luck

I’d like to add CMU and GeorgiaTech in the list.

Wisconsin has a top-ranked ChemE (Top 5) program and is a bit smaller for engineering than some of the others. All in a great overall package.

I’d take Harvard off that list.

CMU?

sic_in, Harvard was added on the list because of its Chemistry department

I believe CMU is carnegie mellon.

Harvard eng’g is getting better and better.

Thanks so much for the suggestions, everyone.
We had not even thought of Pitt, Illinois, or Wisconsin…

A thought–why take off Harvard? Too high a “reach?”

Harvard is always a reach for everyone. Their admissions are unpredictable. And so are Yale, Princeton, Stanford and MIT.

You may want to consider Rose-Hulman (perhaps the oldest Chem E dept. in the country, & top ranked in Masters category (by US News)) & Univ. of Minnesota (ranked in the top 3 Chem E programs by US News). While admission to many of the institutions suggested by other CCers might be within reach, you should also consider financial safety, where you can afford to attend and be happy to spend next 4+ years. Perhaps, you may want to start with your State’s flagship institution (for lower tuition & cost of attendance!).

[Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology - History of Chemical Engineering](<a href=“404 | Rose-Hulman”>404 | Rose-Hulman)

What about UT Austin? Top programs in both and Austin is a great city.

For sure Wisconsin and Minnesota. Two of the best for ChemE!
