Hi! I’m a junior trying to make a college list. So far, I have a couple safeties (university of Florida, new college of Florida) and some reaches (Harvard, Columbia, MIT, Stanford), but I’m struggling to come up with matches.
If you need to know, I have pretty good stats, a 3.97 GPA, with mostly AP, IB and honors classes, fairly strong extracurriculars, and I should be getting a 2250+ on the SAT, based on my practice scores.
Can anyone recommend me any match schools that meet the following criteria:
-in an urban, or suburban area with access to cities
-preferably in the northeast or west
-good cs programs (good recruiting and internship opportunities especially)
-have strong financial aid
Stevens Tech in NJ meets all of your requirements. You would qualify for a lot of merit money, you are literally right next to NYC, and they are heavily math/science focused. The only thing that I would say negatively about the school is the student body/lifestyle. If you just want a good education for a good price, go there. From what I hear, there are very few girls (70:30 in favor of male) and many of the students are introverts. That being said, my best friend just started there and he is very normal and has a normal roommate. So in a nutshell, it has what you want, I’m just not sure if you desire the lifestyle the students have there.
Stevens tech looks pretty good, and of does meet the requirements. The lifestyle and 70:30 ratio aren’t ideal, but its still a school I’ll consider.
Northeastern also meets all my requirements. I’m also not quite sure how their aid is, but I saw that they had some scholarships. I think one was full tuition.
Has anybody here gotten a northeastern scholarship, and can give me insight into how competitive they are?
