Hi everyone! I’m very excited to have been admitted to Minnesota (for finance). Minnesota is definitely my first choice right now, but I’m still waiting on any word of a scholarship… I check my mailbox every night! Although I have very good stats and believe I will get a good scholarship, it still worries me what if I don’t get enough, especially with tuition out of state likely increasing. Does anyone know if Minnesota is a school that you could talk to and have them match or at least raise their offer based on other school’s scholarship offers? I have 11k and honors from Iowa State and Indiana(and direct admission to Kelley a very great business school), 17k+ and honors from Butler and Alabama. Of course with how much I like Minnesota, and especially with its pretty low starting cost before the tuition raises(only Iowa State and my In state Colorado schools start lower) I don’t need offers that totally match these… but close or matching to at least the lower 11k offers would definitely solidify my decision! Thanks for your help and congrats to my fellow admitted Gophers!
I don’t know an exact number for aid, but I can almost guarantee you after the OOS hike you’ll probably pay more here than elsewhere. Congrats! I’m also finance for Carlson! However, I haven’t received notifications about aid and I just checked again. I’m in state though.
@SFgiantsStyle Hey, I’m in more or less the same sitch (full tuition from Ohio State & Miami U, but crickets from Minnesota, but it’s my top choice!) & it sounds like we’re both from the Bay too :)!
I’m going to try and e-mail our regional admissions counselor with a rundown of my situation. I really, really want to attend Minnesota. Let me know if you figure something out!
Yeah you let me know if you find out anything too! I’m trying to decide if I want to send an email to an admissions person before I get the offer(if I get one haha) or after once I see it. Hopefully they’ll give me enough to go over those others! And I’m actually from Colorado, but my dad lived and worked in the bay for years and that’s when I grew to like baseball so hence a Giants fan!
