What's the difference between math 102 and 103? The titles are multivariable and intermediate calculus respectively, but I was wondering if one was more difficult than the other. Or perhaps the material was much different, but I couldn't tell by reading the synopsis.

102 is more application-based and designed for econ majors.

I took 103 which was far from easy!
102, I have heard, is slightly easier.

im going to be a BME major, so i guess either one will be ok for me? Also, i have no experience in economics lol so i think 102 might not be advantageous.

102 is a lesser version of 103 because Econ majors don't need quite as many topics in Multivariable as Math or Engineering majors. 103 is also more conceptual whereas 102 is more applied.

Spicybeef: No, sorry but either one will not be ok for you, as you will not graduate BME unless you have credit for 103. Again, 103 is much more conceptual and covers topics that 102 does not. On the other hand, if you wanted to double major BME and Math, you can take 104 and 105 in place of 103, but otherwise you need 103.

thanks a lot HiWei, that clears it up a lot for me
