Math 112 and Quantitative Reasoning Requirement

So I’ve taken a College Algebra class and I’m currently taking a Trig class at my High School. (Which uses the same textbook as my community college.)

I know that my Quantitative Reasoning Requirement is fine for BYU, but I’m confused about whether that means I’ll be able to go straight into Calculus (Math 112) or whether I will be forced to take Trigonometry (Math 111) because I don’t have University level credit. I know they do placement tests, but the placement test I did at my community college was insane. I have an A in College Algebra and I didn’t even place into Trigonometry. They did some massive equations, and it just takes one careless error. There’s a girl in my College Algebra class who has a 102% and couldn’t place…

Anyways, I’m not sure how hard BYU makes their placement tests. Will I be forced to place into Calculus or can I just register for Calculus regardless of my lack of Trig College credits? In community college they force you to go in a linear progression regardless of the stuff you’ve done in high school, so I’m wondering whether BYU is any different.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks.
