I'm about to be a second semester freshman and my major requires the math 16 series. In high school I only took up to regular precalc and received a B+. Although I really did not try or study in high school, I have to work pretty hard at math. Should I be okay in 16A only having done regular high school precalc or should I take math 32/precalc first?

I took 16a last semester and I don’t think it was that bad. Given, though, that I did take calculus in high school before, a lot of it didn’t seem new. I think as long as you keep up with the book and keep practicing practice problems, you should be fine with the 16A. Perhaps the most important part is knowing why you’re doing each step of a problem, if you can get that conceptually, I don’t think you will have a hard time with 16. Good luck!
