I skipped 4 on the Math 2 SATII. I probably got everything else right, maybe with a few dumb mistakes. That might at worst give me a 780. I'm applying to Ivies. Is this a bad score for them?

If you skipped 4 and got the other 46 right, that’s an 800. So you’re definitely good.

And yes, a 780 is fine. It’s not going to keep you out.

It’s not bad…but remember, 15% of people get 800, which amounts to over 20,000 people, so 800 would probably be good to get. You probably still could get an 800 though, with only ommitting 4. I skipped 2, and made 2 guesses when I took it, and still got an 800

But assuming I get a 780, will it be a hindrance for an Ivy League application?

15% don’t get an 800. 800 is in the 99.9 percentile meaning that 0.1% get it

For math2, 800 is the 85th percentile. Go to the collegeboard stats, if you want. It’s there

Bump 10 char

Hate to be the guy who says “you’re wrong” but the guy who is saying 15% get 800 IS wrong.

<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools;

Math II has 88th percentile in 800 range. 12% get 800, 15% get 790 or better

It varies. On the May 2013 test, 800 was the 85th percentile.

It is typically ~11 to 12% people get 800 in Math2. It does not matter if there was one test with higher percentage of 800 as we are talking about the Math2 test in general.

I am referring to the 2012 stats which are the most recent, and therefore the most accurate. I also got an 800 in May, and it was the 85th percentile on collegeboard… so maybe you guys should actually do some research before you point fingers.

i honestly think ivies aren’t gonna reject you for this score. but this score doesn’t really boost your app in any way, since you might not have gotten 800

FYI. The 15% cut off for 800 stat is for 2012 college bound seniors, not for 2012 test. For 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, and 2007 college bound seniors, it is 13%, 12%, 11%, 9% and 10%, respectively.
The average for the last 6 years is 11.67%. All based on CB’s published stat. It is where the 11-12% is coming from. There was an upward trend in the recent years but it is not clear if that would stay. Most recent year data may or may not be most accurate prediction for this year. It would be a more conservative prediction if you look at the average from recent years.

elnamo…a 780 is not going to keep you out of the ivies. Other things might but in and of itself the 780 is not going to make you or break you.

This is particularly true if you are not majoring in math! :-)

I’m pretty sure you can still get an 800 on math2c with 4 omitted. at least that was the curve for most past 2cs. but anyway, even a 780 is very good and not something ivies would look down on.
