math 20B

hey guys,

i have a few questions about math 20B.
1) which professor do you recommend? De Winter and Dong are teaching but it looks like i won't get De Winter. there's a long waitlist
2) i don't plan on buying my book from ucsd. they say that i need a 'questionnaire' for the class. what is that? how can i get it? i plan on buying my book used. could i get it at the bookstore or from other sd students?
thanks!

check the website ratemyprofessor.com just buy your book online

i thought the waitlist number that is shown is a waitlist of non freshmen that want to take the class, no? since they are reserving more spots for freshmen but still allowing non freshmen to take it?

^That’s correct. The waitlist right now is made up of non-freshmen that cannot enroll because the remaining spots are reserved for freshmen.

Go to half.com to get books

another good website is dealoz.com, which checks multiple sites like half.com, Amazon and other textbook sellers and gives you the best price among them. make sure you list by “total price” which includes shipping, and not just the item price, though.
some of the sellers on dealoz are not that reliable, so you have to be careful - the star rating is there for a reason.
good luck : )

ok thanks for all the tips on getting books. does anyone have tips/advice on professors De Winter or Dong?

btw i still don’t know what the ‘questionnaire’ is haha

bump

c’mon someone must know what the questionnaire is!

^you don’t need a questionnaire or whatever that is. all u need is the textbook and ur set to go
btw, i suggest checking campusbooks.com [compares prices from amazon/ebay/half/etc…and give u best price] or facebook marketplace for books. the book being used for 20b is still the same book that was used last year :)
