How difficult is it? I'm an incoming freshman and was wondering.

Difficulty is all relative. How do you expect us to tell you? It’s probably harder than your HS math.

i got a 5 on calc bc and took it in the fall last year and got an A+. its not that difficult. I never took math 20a or 20b (cuz i passed out of them), but I heard ppl say (and I also think) that 20c is the easiest of the series. if u did good in calc bc, ull do fine in 20c.

Math 20C is easy assuming you found Calc BC pretty easy
the order of difficulty would be 20e>20d>20f>20b>20c>20a in my experience and most people agree on this

“the order of difficulty would be 20e>20d>20f>20b>20c>20a in my experience and most people agree on this”

I don’t know who “most” the people you talk to are, but “most” the people I talk to have an order of difficulty that is almost entirely different than that one. How could 20E be the hardest when half of the material is what you already learn in 20C?

I guess my point is that it is all relative. Some students have difficult professors for certain classes so their experience can be completely different than another student. If you did well in math in high school, the chances are you will do well in math in college if you continue to work hard.

Take a look at the information on this site [CAPE | Course and Professor Evaluations](http://www.cape.ucsd.edu/). You can get a good feel for the difficulty of classes by seeing how many hours people are spending on the class. This isn’t a perfect gauge of difficulty, but I definitely have found it useful and quite accurate.

After taking 20CDEF, the consensus between me and a few dozen engineering majors is that 20E is the hardest. That’s the only one really nailed down; sure it’s the second part of 20C, but everything in 20C was cake compared to the material in E.

Agreed with Oyama. 20E is definitely the hardest out of CDEF. Once you get past reviewing what you learned in 20C, it starts getting pretty difficult.

As for the difficulty of the rest of the classes, not everyone agrees.

For me personally, the order of difficulty was E -> F -> D -> C, but again, I’m different from you and everyone else.

For me, it was E > D > C > F, based on how many hours I found myself studying to keep up with the material. I don’t think I actually did any prep for 20F besides doing the weekly homework assignments and ended up with an A+ (with Evelyn Lunasin).
